Hi folks

First off, sorry this is long but I think it is worth sharing.

I have an 08 KQ 450 with 798km or just shy of 500 miles for you standard folks.

Anyway a little bit of back story to fill you all in and to see if you have a similar situation.

I have never abused the KQ, had it flooded, ran it dry, revved the engine when cold etc. I followed the break in period, changed the oil and even added a twin air filter. To say the least I was pretty decent at maintaining it. ...

This guy is from Louisianna an on Highlifter. I am looking to trade a 60GB Playstation 3 with multiple games an acessories for this bike. Other than the torn\faded decals it looks decent for its age.

He says he had it running once and it had a knocking noise coming from engine side. He thinks an I now think after researching its just the crank bearings. I can get a complete crank ...

I bought this 2004 Vinson used it's a 500cc. I have managed to change the oil and filter on my own. What other maintenance issues should I be concerned with, that I can perform.

When I get a little money saved up I will buy the service manual but for now I am looking for some tips from everyone.

I really wanted to know if there are any grease fittings I should be doing too.

Thanks

King Quad Owners.... Throw out your factory air filter!

If you own a King Quad 450,700, or 750 and it has a Paper air filter in it from the factory.......throw it out. They will let too much Dust & Dirt into the Motor and ruin it. I know of people who has had to rebuild there motor because of it. Suzuki know there was and is a Problem. I suggest you go buy a Uni Filter or Twin Air Foam filter. It will save you in the long run.

I have always been a DIE HARD Yamaha man. I went and bought a KQ 450 about a month ago This thing has really surprised me.It will take alot to steer me away from Yamaha, but this Suzuki is really impressing me IMO its the best mid size ATV out there. It has EFI,wet brake, front diff lock, high & low range and 7 more HP than the closet thing to it in it's class. If your in the market for a 450cc machine you better ride this one before buying anything else.
