I own 2 of these atv's and they are perfect for young people who are just learning. They do have enough power to carry an adult around if you wanted to. I way about 180 and have ridden them on occasion while out on the trails. They won't carry me fast but they will carry me alright. The only real downfall for us is that they are not very mudworthy, which my girls want me to fix.
