I found this at ATV Magazine online. I hope they do better editing when they publish. Notice the name of the article and the references.

Arctic Cat Hits Milestone
ATV News
Polaris recently produced its 500,000th ATV at its factory in Thief River Falls, Minn., and announced an agreement to sell its Madison, S.D., facility, which does painting, welding and subassembly work.

Arctic Cat said the sale allows the company to further leverage its manufacturing and strategic sourcing initiatives.

"We decided to sell our Madison facility and consolidate those operations with our core manufacturing in Thief River Falls. We believe this decision makes good business sense, and is in keeping with our strong commitment to enhance operational efficiency,\" said Christopher A. Twomey, chairman and chief executive officer.

Half Million Strong
The half-millionth ATV model was the company’s 2008 Diesel 700, which is capable on running on six forms of diesel fuel, including biodiesel.

Polaris CEO, Chris Twomey stated, “We are very excited about our hard working employees hitting this build number, which is actually much higher if you included our Prowler line.”

Ole Tweet, Polaris ATV general manager said, “Producing our 500,000th ATV is something to be proud of. Not only have we advanced our product line in those thirteen years, but this ATV has advanced the industry. Our alternatively-fueled 2008 Diesel 700 is something no other OEM is producing.”

Polaris presented the 2008 700 Diesel as the 500,000th ATV at a ceremony hosted by Twomey on September 25th in Thief River Falls.

Polaris began producing ATVs in 1996, entering the market with the largest bore ATV in the industry at the time, the Bearcat 454.
