true but if it was called treasure hunting with gps there would be more muggling ( boxes getting carried off) with it being called geocaching it is more of a "secretive" hobby. keeps people not interested in the adventure from carrying off the loot and ruining the fun. just my interpretation. but treasure hunting via gps is much more understandable.

went tonight and got 4 got carried away on one and almost got lost, except for the fact i had a gps. Very Happy

WAY TO GO on the 4 you got tonight.
That is one thing I keep forgetting to do, is mark my car as a waypoint in case I get very far from it..... gotta remember to do that.

turn the tracking on. I would have went for more but i had to do accounting homework tonight. I started at 530, and went by walmart around 7,(looking for geocaching containers to hide some at windrock or royal blue). Got a few urban caches and went after one in the woods but didnt have much luck and almost got into some bees nest. It was getting dark and the park was getting sketchy (off the path in a park in the city) too many csi/law and order shows for me. So I decided to hit that one again during daylight, it would be easier any-who. Oh and I missed another one. it was hidden at the mall but since bradly square mall is so small and no one ever goes there the mall renta-cop found me way to interesting so he circled where i was too many times for me to get a cache without risking being seen. gota keep stealthy.

Pretty much anything anyone wants to hide. Some are item specific such as ink pens or something real specific. Others are just trade out whatever you want. I have seen hot wheel cars, happy meal toys, etc. Anything you can imagine and small enough to fit in the cache container. There was one around here at one time that was called Agent Cody Banks. It had a brand new DVD when it first came out in it.

Yeah pretty much whatever you want to trade. Etiquette requires that if you take something from the cache, you replace it with something of equal or greater value. A lot of dollar tree items are in them. Its just the fun of the hunt. You would not believe what some of the caches are made of.... They can look like anything from an ammo can to a fake pile of dog poop, rusty bolt, 35 mm flim can, etc. Some caches have themes like UT, Nascar etc. They would like for you to leave a trinket of that type in that particular cache. They also have puzzle caches. You have to solve a riddle to find the coordinates for the location of the cache. Im havin a blast.
