I will be more than glad to help you with questions.

I got the rechargeable batteries at Walmart. About $9 for (4) AA. The Charger is $9 also. But hey you will appreciate the long term savings. I also got the Ram Mount. That thing is the Bomb. Here is link to a place I got mine. But they are all over. Make sure if you get one to get the Stainless Steel Bracket so it don't rust.

I have the Garmin E-Trex Venture HC with color screen. I really like mine.

i got one of these the features are great but somewhat weak signal, it came with topo map, waterways, and roadways and a 12 volt plug

also have one of these but features stink great signal though

and i have a dell axim x51v w/ gps and nav software this thing is awesome for in car nav, storefronts, shopping areas and wifi web browsing

Think the dells gps software is the same as whats in my palm phone. I know the head of the local rescue squad. he uses the vista HCx. he's used it all over the states even in alaska, said its the best for surviving what i'm going to put it thru.

the dell can use any windows mobile software, but mine says dell nav on the case bet someone else makes it though.

Found a good deal on a 530 hcx, this has a 2-way radio built in. Really good price, any thoughts?

Garmin E-Trex is a good all around easy to use GPS.
I have had mine for some time and have always found my way back home woo

There are a lot of Garmin Legend HCX bundles on Ebay selling for the next couple of days. I managed to get one for $110.00. Most were bringing $130.00+. Mine quit working and Garmin charges $90.00 to repair them. For $20.00 extra I get a new unit with a bundle of extras and this one will use my existing handlebar mount.
