Well it is a typicla honda 4wd system. As of now to my knowledge Honda hasnt developed any locker. I dont expect it to come anytime soon..........

From what I was readin on the website, the "Big Red" has some sort of locker in it. This my be the machine they goin to run the testing with before they put it onto the 4x4 avts. Would be nice. They are making small steps in the right direction as far as what most of us are using our bikes for. As far as a working machine, they are and will remain the number one seller.

after riding with pokey and some other hondas while using 4wd i have found that they actually lock in often without having to tap the front brake. jessi doesnt even know the tapping brake tip and it always pulls with four wheels. just food for thought.

Click on the link, and after it opens over on the left hand side there's a box. In that box there is a link that says "Specifications". After clicking there, it'll show the driveline specs.

And it'll say..............Driveline Direct front and rear driveshafts with 3 drive modes: 2WD, 4WD, and 4WD with all-wheel differential lock

You absolutly right about that, and I don't feel that it'll ever make it's mark in the mud riding world, however it could be and will be a very facited tool on a farm or ranch application.

If I could get a HL Detroit Locker for the 420 I wouldn't care to have an 09 model with IRS & Disc Brakes. I would want the Foot shifter though...no push button for me. After having the KQ 450 and going back to Big Bore again I have found that thehe Brute" it would be either a KQ 450, Big Bear 400, or the KQ 400. and maybe the new 420 IRS

The Rubi tranny can be put in auto mode and you don't have to shift anything, or in manual mode and you can use the thumb shift buttons to select the gear you need. I like the Rubi transmission, but prefer the straight ES of my Foreman.

If it had either a CVT or a regular 5 speed it would be great.

I personally like the foot shift on a wheeler, but the more I mess with these automatics, the more I'm liking them. Maybe it's cause I am gettin older and lazier.
