A guy i work with is wanting to sell me a 2000 Yamaha Big Bear 400, I know its full time 4x4. Also know it's in Perfect shape. Any ideas on what the ball park price is for these models and anything i need to be aware of??

they're tough machines, wheel bearings, ball joints, just normal atv wear items check the oil front and rear diffs for water. I would say anywhere from 1800-2500 IMO.

Thought about getting it for my wife. She won't ride it much but at least i won't have to feel her hitting me in the back of the head!

There not hard to steer like what ours is in 4wd. Plus you can get a Warn 424 for it to take it in & out of 4wd.

X2 One of the guys that hunts with us has one it steers just like my 2wd.

That is an awesome price. If its in great shape, but then if not plastics aren't high for them about $3-400 fer front, rear, and mud flap plastics.

If the plastics are bad, oh well, she most likly will only ride it 2x a month. My brothers riding it is a different story.........

Heck you do like I did to my Big Bear and just krylon fusion it fer maybe $10 and alittle wet sanding. She could have it what ever color she likes. Wink

Lil_sis had 2 different big bears. First one was a 2000 with a SRA. Wasn't a bad bike, and with a jet kit, air filter, and pipe it did pretty well. It's goin to goin to spin 29.5's, but if you lookin at usin it for an all around bike.........meaning trails, mud, and everything in between it'll be a good machine. We put 27" Swampfoxes on it and it was easy enough for her to steer all day. All in all for it's size and intended use, I'd give it a 4 out of 5 stars.
