Coop45 mod,coop45 mod, Coop45 mod, coop45 mod!! I don't know about the 450 but the 700 are extremly lean from the factory! So a pipe will just make it run lean even more. When doing the coop45 mod, add a stiffer spring in the secondary. Congrats again on the 450, there great rides!

snorkel pipe and im guessing its an efi so i would get a programmer...then get your rims and tires and maybe boot or ollie can tell you what that cheap mod is that they have done to KQ's that give them alot more power other than that all i can think of is make sure you have your saftey equipment if not give jody a call at gearuphelments he can hook you up with gloves boots helmet the works...

Boy....I miss my KQ 450 Sad Anyway. I would do the Coop45 mod to it. On the 450 the Dalton Clutch kit only come with rollers. Dalton say the secondary is stiff enough...which they may be correct. Thats the one I had but I only had 25 inch Bighorns. If your going to got with big tires you will need the EPI kit so you can put a different secondary in it. I had so many mods on mine I can't remember....I miss it Sad Hind sight is 20/20 though. This is just me but the rear springs seem kinda week on mine so I put High Lifter springs all around and it rode twice as good. They make VDI for them now....but they don't hold up in the water like they should.....so if your water riding don't get it. I would just search and see what kind of fuel controllers they make.

#1 MOD.....THROW THE AIR FILTER AWAY FIRST THING AND GET A UNI FILTER......THAT IS A MUST.

Yah the filter goes asap.
Since ill proably run a swamp series what kind of cdi should i go with .
ive been looking around there are several out there.
Im cluless, my dealer says a dalto clutch is the best first mod.
I think getting some big horns is super important the stock tires are so thin.
One thing its a great ride and i dont want to mess it up with a bad exhaust cdi combo.

If they make a Power Commander3 for it...get it. If your going to snorkel it and put a Pipe on it. A PC3 is the only way to go. The rest are garbage.

The VDI has been fixed, still want to use dielectric grease on the connections though. If you are getting a programmer get the pc3. It will open it up!

I had it pelled apart today the intake as you guys know it top dead center .
What its the big round plastic container that hooks to it and runs the entire length of the cycle and has other vent above the exhaust .
I meen other than that the intake is so high its almost snorkled.
It looks really easy to snorkle the intake on top but if i have to do something with all that other plastic that semmingly hooks into the exhaust im screwd.
I have greased all the connectors i can find .

One HMF website all i see is available is a slip on exhaust .
The stock exhaust would be way easy to snorkle.
I dont see the advantage if the slip on.
Bear with me in super green.

Finally yeah is the connection for the power commander on the left side top under the top side panel and its just a capped off connector or is that a diagnostie tool?

I think my best bet would be to let a pro give her a whirl. Do you guys know anybody in the chattanooga area ?
If i wanted to learn more abouyt how to work on this where besides here would be my best bet.
I need a service manuel or some computer learning cd's .
So far all i can do is change the different fluids ) :

This after market exhaust tip would be way easy to snorkle.
im totally confused at why and how a slip on exhaust can do much for the power .
I can see how a full exhaust assembly would work.

I was kida bummed when i noticed that my new 650 rincon was just a slip on.
I went with the swamp series.
The tec. is putting a cam inti tomorrow and hopefully porting and polishing a bit .
At this point ill have to add a better pipe right up against the head correct ?

Are you talking about the large plumbing system at the CVT exit?
I haven't found a full system for the king either, there all slip ons.

you cannot buy the swamp series in a full system they only make the swamp series as a slip on exhaust only for all atvs.. slip ons give you a great amount of power gains anytime you can force air out faster your improving your hp.. full system exhausts really are never optimized unless your running motor mods honestly..

I have done some more research before opening my mouth. It has been a while since I looked and I wanted to make sure before posting.

On the KQ 450....you will not get enough power from an after market exhaust to justify the money.....not even close. Even with the Yoshi pipe and that is all they made for the KQ 450 until just a few months ago. They do not make a Swamp series exhaust for the 450 anyway.

How bad would it be to remove the spark arrester and do your own mods on the inside of the pipe?

Twin air makes a good filter for the kings as well. Get rid of the stock tires and get the HL springs. And you dont have to buy the clutch kit as a kit - you can mix and match the roller weights and secondary spring to whatever you think would fit your riding style better.
