Hatfield-McCoy Adds Kenda Tire As National Trails Fest Sponsor
LYBURN, WV - Kenda USA, one of the world’s largest tire and tube manufacturers, has signed on as sponsor of the Hatfield-McCoy National Trail Fest.

As part of its sponsorship, Kenda will use the trail system’s challenging terrain for research and development, and its tires will be known as the “Official Tire of the Hatfield-McCoy Trail Fest” and Kenda will sponsor the mud pit at Trail Fest, Oct. 8-12, 2009.

“The Hatfield McCoy Trail System is proud to be partnered with such a progressive company as Kenda Tires, as well as all of our corporate partners,” Hatfield-McCoy Executive Director Jeffrey Lusk said.

“Kenda’s enthusiasm for the sport and willingness to promote and sponsor managed, safe riding areas such as Hatfield-McCoy is exactly what the motorsports and off-road industry needs,” Lusk said.

“Kenda is excited to be involved with such a well known ATV event as Trailfest,” said Gus Niewenhous, Kenda Powersports division sales and marketing manager. “The Hatfield-McCoy Trail System is without a doubt one of the premier riding areas in the country. We’re looking forward to the event and a long-lasting relationship with all of the folks at Hatfield McCoy.”

In becoming the official tire of Trail Fest, Kenda joins Kawasaki, the Trails’ title sponsor; WARN, the official winch of the Trails; and Can-Am, whose Outlander MAX model serves as Hatfield-McCoy’s official two-up ATV.

Hatfield-McCoy Trails was created by the West Virginia Legislature to generate economic development through tourism in nine southern West Virginia counties. The system comprises more than 500 miles of off-road trails in six systems scattered over southern West Virginia. Each system is open 365 days a year to ATVs, dirt bikes, select utility vehicles (UTVs), mountain bikes, horses, and hikers. Many of the trail systems also offer community connecting trails that allow visitors to access “ATV-friendly towns.”
