PostSubject: Parking close to Hancock grocery?   Fri May 29, 2009 10:00 am

This is my 1st post so i'd like to say hello CATVers. I have a house over on Dale hollow lake that all of my family stays at while we are in the area, I currently live in Middletown,OH. We have been riding the Pickett trails for about 3yrs,an have allways parked at the grocery, well thats not a option anymore,so is there any place to safely park without driving over to the pickett parking area?

I just purchased a 09 BF650i ,handed down my 350 rancher to my son. We will be down riding Pickett 6/3-6/7 looking for Yellow doors,Tea cup areas, probably have been to them just did'nt know all the different names people call them.. GOOD RIDING, JBridges...

Good to have you on here. I've never been to Dale Hollow but I've heard a lot about it. Gonna get over that way and check it out sometime soon.
Congrats on your new ride.
I enjoy riding at Pickett. I don't know all the different names of the places either except for Mineral Lake.

You were asking about a place to park, I don't know if this would work or not, but there is a pretty little church back in the woods with a blacktop road leading up to it somewhere not too far from Hancocks -- seems like the name of it is Dry valley or Dry Hollow or something.

Boot took a bunch of us down there one time a year or so ago, and there is a nice trail leading from the Church up into Pickett, and if you could get in touch with the Preacher or Deacons or caretker, you might work out something about parking there -- I would say Sunday mornings are definetly out . . .

Just some thoughts, and I don't know if it would work or not, but I am sure the Church could use a little extra money.

Hope you can find someplace suitable . . .
