PostSubject: Retuning the Brute...   Sun Jun 14, 2009 9:18 pm

I am in the process of rejetting the Brute.....It runs pretty good now but its just too rich. After riding it a long period yesterday I could really tell. The Plugs are BLACK!!! On the conversation chart....in Dynojet sizes...the factory jetting is a 140 & 144. Right now I have a 146 & 148.....and its to much. So I am going to drop one size in front & rear to a 144 & 146 and see how that does. I really want to drop 2 sizes in front and back....but I know thats a BIG no... No in Jetting. One size at a time....but going by the plugs that may be the thing to do but I know if I do I will be too much...I have bad luck. bonk Then I will have to tune the throttle positions AGAIN... Sad

Good luck with that Boot, I don't know anything about carbs or jetting. I've thought at times I need someone that knows what they are doing to look at my BigBear to see if it might need something done to it, because all I know is it runs, and goes faster as you push the throttle. lol!

I got it all ready....I was running fine before...just seemed a little rich after the all day ride. I dropped one size front and rear.....WOW!! I guess teh extra gas does rob some HP. It runs alot better. I tuned it back at 1/4,1/2, and wot.....That took about an hour or so but I got it quick this time... cheers I am actually running 2 sizes bigger than stock now.....I bet I could drop it one more.....but I am afraid too... Laughing Its running so much better now....
