Bolted directly to the rear rack 1/4-20 with Nylon Lock Nuts. Big Washers inside. 4 of them.

That is what i did. Drill holes through box and put big fender washers so it makes the plastic stronger.

If you can't see the rack below get a big light and shine underneath the box facing up. Then you should be able to see the outline of the rails so you can mark inside the box. I was able to.

Nope it will be fine. Find you some 1/4 Bolts that have Phillips Head. Get the bigger washers for the inside of the box. If you drill 5/16 holes you will not need washers on the under side of the rack. Also see if you can get this hardware in Stainless Steel. Lowes has them in those specialty drawers in the Nut and Screw Aisle.

I have rode mine nearly 2k Bumpy Miles and it is the most solid mounting you could have. If you want to be safe about leaking, dab you some silicone in the bolt hole when you are ready for final mounting.

I went to the hardware store and got another ubolt... I got 4 total. 2 in back, 2 as far forward as I was able to drill holes straight drill. I would have placed them farther forward if I could have used a right angle drill. I used silicone around the bolts and the top rails... weather stripping around the lid.
