ya'll help me out here...I'm old and slow...

This bill would enable them to make an OHV license plate for my truck...like the UT, Florida, Vandy plates...correct?

If so, I'm in! I think it's a good idea.

I would also be in favor of a yearly OHV permit or plate (that mounts on my ATV) from the state to insure that the OHV areas are kept up and new trails made or maintained. I know alot states up North do this and I think it would work well here too.

That is correct Dan....it will be a registration plate for your automobile and there is a portion of the money that will go to the cause.

If the other two OHVing bills somehow doesn't pass, this one probably won't either.

We have a sticker also BD, but it is to prove you payed the Sales Tax. Up here you can purchase a wheeler and not pay the sales tax if you can prove it is for Farm Use. I think this is like those Wildlife License plates to raise extra funds for the TOHVA initiative.

I asked Michelle Russell and here is her response:

Yes. It got lumped into an Omnibus License plate bill that was sponsored by Bill Harmon. TOHVA has until July of this year to sell the required 1000 license plates to get them into production. This caveat is used across the board to weed out the serious players. I don't remember the figures off the top of my head but TOHVA will receive 50% of the proceeds after Govt takes their chunk. The other half goes to the Tennessee Arts Commission. Not alot of money right now, but could be a significant number down the road. The money could help with sooooo many things in the OHV world here.

Rooster, that's pretty much the same as what the Predators went through. I want to get my name on the list, did she give you any information on how to take care of that and what the number they were up to at this time?

I have Commercial plates onmy truck, but I'm sure I can opt out of those in favor of the OHV plate, I think I will need new plates at the end of March...
