PostSubject: New trails at PC   Thu Apr 01, 2010 9:55 am

I found a very rarely ridden trail to the left off of the end of Haley road which was blocked by logs . we got past some of them and rode on around the ridge about a mile or so .
Also have spent some time mapping the area .
Ill show you guys better maps later , no time now .
This image was e mailed to me from google earth , ive been using Everytrail
to take pics at way points and such .
ill post a link when its finished up loading .
Lots more at PC than ya think
This image also shows the semi closed trails.
Amd it shows me exiting toward the cove across sequtchie.

We saw them a couple of weeks ago. Nascar was going to try to map it out as well.

It plays the slide show as the ride progresses but youll be better off clicking on areas of interest , let me know if you find the coal mines .
Thats a bad butt addition to the trails which they will close as soon as they find its being ridden im sure . So we need to keep to camofloged .
Ive drug up several bigger limbs and stuff at the entrance .
They can close a trail ina second , right now there are huge tractor at the pc office im hoping they are not about to log an area or please if they would quit turning the trail in to dusty roads , that would be awesome .
Ive called and complained alot .

Please yall all call to .....maybe they will quit screwing it all up

I hope you dont ride trails that are closed off and then call the office raising hell. You might just ruin what is left there to ride for others with that attitude. Just my 2 cents

What ????
Its not even 500 yeards , its a drive way guys .
I was just showing A PICTURE .
I said yall shouldnt ride up there not me .
But you proably could , a local told me it was ok to look at .
I had a friend of a friend , remember i live here .
I know most everyone on chock taw . Jackie Been , Haskel T.
Ive been on the rescue team at times .
No Repoman i would neve,r never, never call the office and complain. Please dont think or say that about me . God i had to work hard to get the rock climbing areas open . Do any of you know about T wall or the Oracle or The promise land ?
All of those are rock climbing areas in PC and all were at one time CLOSED .
Now they are all OPEN thanks to the SCC.Look at their mission statement.
The SCC is a large group of climbers that work toward opening Climbing areas .And crags in PC was and still is one of the biggest areas of concentration , I actually own the acess point to the concentration camp , and its open for all to enjoy , you are welcome any time .
Im a member and have been very active .25 years of active .
Look here www.seclimbers.org
There is alot about Prentice in there but you have to search for it ....
Also look here this is an interview with me about rockclimbing -
http://www.seclimbers.org/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=113
Do i seem like the guy who will complain ? or cause trails to be closed ?
Man that was alittle harsh bro , especially as ive done like 40 trail clean ups .
And many many days of moving rocks for trail maintenance .It cool though you dont know me . Sorry maybe i shouldnt have posted the picture of the beautiful lake . Im sure many riders have been there many time .Its all borarded up and seems perfectly fine for foot traffic .Id just never walked in there .

I understand you cant make heads or tales of all that roclclimbing talk but please dont say that i would call the office complaining . Thats not what ive built 25 years of preserving acess and developing new areas .
This is my local area man - i am trying to open new trails, but not by complaining ok .
I ask the rangers very gently and im told the rules status quo . But its changing in our favor man , slowly .
Just enjoy the photo and look----- I dont know much about that lake , its closed, but there are not any no trespassing signs . I was told its ok to visit but dont stick around .
I saw the gate open and made a cell phone call to a guy that has been here way longer than me and, he said no problem to go see it . However , until i find out from someone who knows for sure ill never drive back there again . Its likely locked again , i dont think they mind foot traffic honestly , I JUST DONT KNOW OFFICIALY OK ,,,,And i wont ever ask who owns it proably , i avoid conversation with the rangers , its usually fruitless. I let the SCC guys do that .

Im the guy that finds the new climbs and they are the ones that open entire areas.

Climbers and atv'ers share one thing in common ,,,,, we are just two user groups .
Ill never complain and ill always pick up garbage and ill help any way i can to maintain good relationships with the rangers , please look me up my track record speaks for its self.

Cool ?

Anyhow i called a few more locals just now to find out about the pond , alot of people walk up to the pond .
So im guessing its cool to walk to , however i do not know for sure.

Whats really good about last weeks mapping is , i found an old trail going up from the west ridge .To get to it -
Turn right way out haley road , go past all the mud holes - stay on the ridge .
After passing all the junked out tarps and tents and old trash everywhere , keep going straight following the ridge - you end up coming up to a serious trail ride up a very short pile of boulders .This is more or less the half way point between haley and hwy 27.
This very short rocky part of trail is hard to ride and it scrapes the sides of your wheels badly . If you dont want to ride up it , go around it, low and right .This old rarely ridden trail will take you all the way back to near the entrance of PC . This is a complete other trail , its not the closed one we have talked about befor.
Its pretty cool but some of it is on private property .I dont know who owns it but its trashed with old tarps and etc etc.
Otherwise -
Its a great trail , well it would be a great trai,l but there are many many trees blocking it .
I went around all of them, and you can exit 2 different ways .
I dont want to go further with this talk but we all know the state is slowly messing PC up with their dusty gravel . And bull dozers and logging . I hear PC used to be an awesome area to ride and it still is in my opinion just not in groups as the dust is a killer.
We all know the authorities are not gonna budge on the rules and they are re graveling more and more .
We are hoping that the state takes part in a decent OHV program and PC will move toward a more open trail riding area with less gravel and more open old school trails ....
Wishful thinking
Come on
Anyhow happy trails, drop by and see me when yall are passing through .
Just ignore all the shot up targets with no tresspassing signs Mutley

Ps..... to JodyT im off my meds again man , sorry the doc cut me off.

This comment started it all.......Maybe next time you can choose your words wisely and you wouldn't get Dirt Dobbered on the forum.......There are many of us that would come and ride with you, but.......

With all the talk about No Tresspassing, Posted and Shot Out it will turn alot of us off to riding any of those areas you speak of. If that is your intent than fine. But if not, might I suggest a little careful thought to the words you type. I ain't coming down on you man, just trying to keep the peace.

Ok Rooster i understand . Thanks .

Seriously i do understand , i will choose my words more carefully .
My bad ....

I cant count the times ive heard that from other people ,so in my defense i was just repeating what ive heard ,out of habit ,, about most every semi legal riding area . Havent we all heard that befor .

Anyhow my bad deffinatly , you are correct .
This is not the place to use that language in that format .

I can see how that would be taken wrong .

Sorry man ,

Please re read the ensuing post ,,, you can see that i explained as clearly as my third grade grammer,,, the situation.

Its a drive way ,to an old shack with a lake .

Still my bad , i should never have said it , in the way i did .
I wont do that again .
