PostSubject: Brimestone Trail # 87 Dangerous you will die!!!!!   Sun Apr 04, 2010 5:22 pm

Me and my husband and two other couples was riding in Brimestone Saturday April 3 2010. Trail # 87 close to the end where 102, very dangerous. We was going up a steep and I mean steep hill and at the top was a giant whoot that when you went over it in a RZR you couldn't see what was on the otherside!!!! Guess what? it was a Hugh washout and me and my husband fell into and was hanging on the cliff. My side which is the passenger side, no ground under it, no way for me to bale and the Rzr was trying to decide if it should go over the cliff or just balance. We had to shift our weight back to the left to keep it from going over and we couldn't move until our friends could wrench us out. I crapped in my pants, cried and screamed. I have never been so scared in my life. Just one wrong move and we could have been a cross on the Mountain and a story in the news paper. Brimestone is not what it use to be, the loggers has destroyed it!!! We are experience riders but even an experience rider would have crapped in their pants or been killed.

Thanks and just to add there was nothing marked telling you about a washout, red flag, no log along the side. I just want ppl to know about it. Coming the way we did was a blind side.

Wow, I am glad you are both OK... and didn't die.

But quite obviously, you were NOT very experienced with E TN. Wash outs, landslides, and cliffs, are common in this area. Always LOOK before you GO over... anything in E TN. This last winter has been extremely harsh on many trails.

Thanks but however we are from Alaska and believe me thats extreme, we also have rode at Royal blue, Windrock and W.V. I understand a bad winter but however these ppl need to keep up their trails ( that everyone pays to ride ) and check them out ever once in a while. Do you know how many whoots we went over? the whole mountain is whoots and even tho you sign a wavier you also trust Brimestone to take care of the trails or close it until they get it fixed.

I can see this lady's point.....If they were climbing a steep hill and came over the top and couldn't see in front what was about to happen......Well I can see where a problem would happen.

yeah his hand definately was holding you up.

but who was holding the toilet paper?? yeah iam kidding and almost going over a cliff would make just about anyone drop a load.

washouts are pretty bad, but if you are paying shouldnt some of that money go to trail maintenance?

    just my humble (snicker) opinion.

They do fix the trails all the time. They have 4 Rhinos out there and guys trying to keep the trails as safe as possible.
Thats what I was told out there by trail officials anyways.
