Has anyone built an atv stand? I am looking for some specs, how wide, tall, long, so it would work on almost any wheeler. I put this here because it would aid in working on the wheelers.

Not really wanting an adjustable one or anything. Just something better than car ramps or blocks.

Are you talking about one of those lifts( for atvs and lawnmowers?).

Might be easier and less expensive to just buy one than to build one. unless you're wanting a full-on lift.

I have some scrap steel laying around and if I get one figured out on dimensions more than likely I'll build a couple. Nothing wrong with atv jacks I just won't trust hyd jacks to hold that much weight for a few days etc.

Thats a good point. .One thing I like about mine is the safetys built into it..

IF it falls it will only fall so far.. ( less than a few inches)

Very well built and worth the $$$. .Although I got mine for free

Very Happy

Would 4 vertical 1"x1"x14"x1/8" steel angle iron hold up an atv? Pretty much like a cube.

if it was square and you ran a few braces or gussets to keep it from shifting it would for sure.

Strength of 4 pieces of 1inch angle are capable of supporting weigh of any atv if properly braced. I suggest x bracing, by the way I am an engr (retired or retarded)

I just use my trailer and jack stands works well. My sides are removable on my trailer so I have good access all the way around and it puts the atv at a nice height to work on it.
