Remember this is Harescrambles .
Not mud , not sure what you race Haney .
All the info im getting from most of us southerners is use the cvtech.
But from Greg im getting basically i cant tune it worth a crap if you dont use an a stm .
"He meens the engine clutch combo "
He said look ive donr others with just about everything ,,,,,,but for me to get it like i want it,,, i have to tune useing the stm.
BTW i was gettin 79 at the wheel with and 840. Running plain gas .
We added 25 hp . If i went alittle bigger i could have added alot more .
A whole lot more .

What i would like to hear is why should i not use a stm.
Just say why not to use the STM

I have one answer already - engine breaking is less .
Price is another answer .
Remember this is harescrambles... so i need a clutch dont just grab and go ,,, its got to be extremly adept at variable speeds .

The word i got is Checco used one and so did Beasly but i cant confirm this .

Im just not understanding why one of the best builders in the south is so set one it .
I dont think he needs the money that bad ok.
So ,,, he knows his stuff - he says he promises it will be insane .
couple other guys up round those parts told me they r running exact same set up and love it .

Yeah except none of the questions were answered .
Like WHY not use the STM ?
Also Why do several pros use it ?
The only bad things ive come to hear what i mentioned above .

It belt grabbing ability far exceeds the cvt tec which is rated to max out at way lower HP .
I asked for some cold hard facts and so far i havent got any other than my own research .

I do know for sure that the STM will handle about twice the HP but this is a mute point for me AS ILL never get anywhere near that point.

Give me a few facts , dont just randomly diss it especially when so many racers get the checked flag using it .

the STM has to be run with deflection and when you stab the throttle you get a split second of nothing but belt slip as the STM tensions the belt before it begins to turn the secondary. with the CVtech you get a harder launch because it uses a constant tension design keeping the belt tight in the secondary so when the clutch engages, it instantly begins to turn the secondary
