You need to look into the Windrock ATV Club. Great group of RIDERS. They are family oriented. Here is a link to their website. They have club meetings in Oak Ridge at the Comfort Inn the last Tuesday of each month. Membership is $20 per year for the entire family. They have a Members Picnic in the fall and an Annual Christmas Dinner. Those two alone are worth the price of admission.

Several on here and East Tennessee ATV Riders (www.weridetn.com) are members of this club.

Sounds like the club for me but I can afford $20 plus $80x3 for my family to join an atv group.

Yea that is what i said. $20 for the entire family. If you are just looking for people to ride with then these forums are free. Just depends on what you are looking for.

I understand $20 to join club, but isnt most of club events is on Coal Creek. So that means $80x3 for permits. Wheeler

I see what you are saying.

We all pay permit fee's to ride these areas Royal Blue, Brimstone, Coal Creek. You have other options. The Windrock ATV Club has the positive goals and family atmosphere if you ever decide you want something more.

I am sure you can find plenty of people to ride with around the free forums.

I grew up in the mountians that is now is Coal Creek Ohv. Its hard to swallow paying extra money for each rider on atv. All other ohv parks dont and brimstome has cheaper rstes if your a resident. I dnt understand why C.C. doesnt. They are by far the highest.

Brimstone and Coal Creek both charge per person. According to their websites.

http://www.brimstonerecreation.com/permit.php

http://www.coalcreekohv.com/rules/

Not sure about the being a resident and Brimstone charging less. I have always had to pay full price at Brimstone and I am a resident.

BTW, there is another Club if you are interested. The Royal Blue Rangers ATV Club based out of Ride Royal Blue Campground. They charge $20 per year also. Royal Blue has the cheapest riding if you are a Tennessee Resident. $45 a year and you got 120,000 acres at your disposal. I gladly pay my $45 per year to TWRA to have that kind of riding.

I agree if you are going to ride the area like most of us do, the yearly permit is well worth it.

Well Rooster my friend lives at base of Brimstone and they pay $15 per quad. Oh well can go on and on about Coal Creek, but it wont accomplish anything. Thanks for the info about the atv clubs. Hope to ride with you sometime.

The $15 at Brimstone is the normal price...atleast it use to be. Isn't Coal Creek only like $18 now?

$15 is annually at Brimstone. I wish Coal Creek was $18 annually. If the would had a cheap resident annual rate they would have less people trespassing which would mean more money in long run.

Scott County Residents have a special deal with Brimstone. They get a yearly permit for $15 per year.

$65 annual at Brimstone... daily and weekly permits can be applied to discount the annual permit.

I am just thankful we have this HUGE area to ride on... about 250,000 acres and 700+ miles of trail... five days straight and never repeat a trail. You can't find this anywhere else in the world. HM is the next largest in the eastern US @ ~$50. WTOP is only 6000 (free), Black Mtn (Evarts) is only 8000 with fee. LBL is only 3500 with a fee.

In comparison to other places, this area is very reasonably priced. On top of that, you can stay at home and ride every day. Others aren't so lucky, they have to buy lodging in order to ride...

Thats what we need at Coal Creek. I dont have a probably with the $80. I know it costs money to keep up trails and put security patrols in Hummers. I just have a prob with having to pay extra for extrs passenger. It would be different if it was for extra atv in family.

But you dont understand I was born and raised in Beech Grove and my parents didnt have pay for me or did I til Coal Creek realized they could make money on this growing hobby. I guess if you have the money to spare you dont think about the costs.
