PostSubject: SUPER GLUE fixes valve stem   Tue Jul 19, 2011 12:19 pm

Guys i know its almost impossible to believe but i got back from Ireland and sure nuff there was a fellow begging to come and buy my 450 King Quad ....
Well rt befor i left fer Ireland we havd taken the 450 on a big ride and Justin split the valve stem almost all the way off .
Ok its sunday about 5pm and im dead tired from layovers - id been on plane and in airports for 23 hours on almost no sleep befor hand .
The quad was a wreck all muddy and he had knocked the plastic odometer piece off but that was no big deal easy fix just a bolt . But the tire was flat from the big split in the valve stem .

Ok where to get a valve stem and get it in in 30 mins as they were headed my way and i needed to pressure wash it real good and slick it up you know .

I noticed that by hanging a deep well socket on the stem with the wheel rotated to the right position it would mash it down gently where the large large split was - over half the stem .
Well i applied the super glue and hung the deep well on and waited 15 mins .
I took the socket off and aired it up and it held . O put on alittle more glue for good measure and washed the bike . You could not see the split of any evidence of it . Of course i told them ....
They got here - and she didnt like the bike - she seemed to have been wanting a older king quad or something. The kept saying rincon or rubicon im not sure - any how that 450 will fly for a 450 haha so i let umm at it .
Now this guy weighed 215 and she weighed 120- so both of them got on my king quad and let it rip - they tested the bike until i was starting to get annoyed because he dropped in in low and floored it up this big ole hill twice . And they went up and down the street over and over flat out redlining it
Then when they hit high i swear i heard a quick grind of the gear ...
15 to 20 mins of testing - and hey i dont blame umm i would have tested longer .

Anyhow long story short, the super glue held the valve stem through all that and was still holding when they left .

I am now adding super glue to my box of back woods tricks ...
