PostSubject: clutch springs   Sat Mar 03, 2012 1:10 pm

i hav a 05 brute 750 28" itp 589 M/S tires. right now it kinda slow off the start im trying to find out what clutch springs to run. i do alot of trail riding and mudding. im getting ready to install snorkel and dynatek cdi just waiting on some funds. i want instant throttle response and as much top speed as possible but top not as importnt as lowend. i want to be able to wheelie at the thought if i wanted. i thrive for power. just trying to mod my brute the best most effective way for my riding. plus my bro inlaw running stock grizz 700 and he always get me on jump but race usually pretty even once i get goin so would liketo put a stop to the even stuff . just want to dust him and still get my goals together. thanks for any help.

Hello Josh. Maybe Bootlegger will see this and give you some guidance.

Josh, I can't help you on the clutch, bootlegger can though, I've never messed with them.

I can tell you this, kawasaki puts a timing retard in the cdi programming so from a dead stop you don't get full power until 5-7mph, that's one of the reasons he is beating you from a stop. The dynotek will take that retard away but before buying a cdi take a look at the vdi copperhead cdi. It has both maps programmed into it with a switch, you can run stock or modified mapping.
The copperhead is $400

They also have a box just for removing the retard, its only $100. Only affects the machine below 5mph.
