PostSubject: The Cove 4/28   Wed Apr 25, 2012 1:06 am

There will be a group of us (10 or more) riding the cove this Saturday, we are planning to meet in Whitwell at 7:30. This will be a fairly tame ride because we will have a couple of older guys who don't ride that much with us, but I would still recommend a 4x4 because of the terrain. We don't really drink, but we will make a long stop in the middle of the day to eat, might even cook a little.

Call or text me for details because I don't check the forums everyday.

Thanks for the invite. Looks like a lot of riding going on this weekend.

If we can get a little rain, it will be a great trip.

There is another ride planned for the same day at Viola. If i hadn't already planned on riding viola with some newbies( to the area) i would go to the cove.

Have fun and be safe.

That's the plan right now, we are going in through Peter Cave Cove then up to the church and up the cove for awhile and back down and out Palmer Firetower Road. We rode it all Monday to make sure there wouldn't be any problems.

I'd love to go but I can't make it this weekend. We are planning to camp at the church by the swinging bridge or ttc and ride all that area some time over the summer. Hopefully, we can meet up. Is the access via Cove Rd still open?

Yes, that's about three miles from my house. It's only a problem when the water is up.

Where is Whitewell and The Cove? I'm new to this forum, just wondering how to figure out where all the places mentioned are located...

Welcome. It is west of Chattanooga.

Here's a pic from our ride. We had 7 500 Foremen, one 350 Rancher and one 500 Polaris. Two of the Hondas and the Polaris are missing from the pic because they were busy working on the Polaris...

We need to ride sometime. I'm in the market for a side by side and the small door opening on the Honda Big Red makes it too hard for my dad to get in and out of (one of his knees doesn't bend very much). We have two Rangers at work that we run the crap out of and they've held up great but I haven't seen how they do on the trail. The only Polaris four wheelers I've rode with have been beat on pretty hard and not maintained, so I don't want to base my opinion solely on them since we take care of our stuff, ya know?

My ole Ranger gets beat up on the trails and it does a pretty good job.
