PostSubject: Side x Side World Camping Event 6-20 to 6-23-12   Sun Jun 24, 2012 8:54 am

Well I arrived on Wednesday and set up camp. I did not get in much riding just riding around meeting the SSW members. That night we had a meet and greet dinner that consisted of hamburgers, hot dogs, smoked pork loin, baked beans, tater salad, chips, hot sausage with opinion and peppers, and all the fixin's. We had a great time and had plenty left over for dinner the next day.

Thursday we met up and due to the dust, we decided to split into 2 separate groups. I took the first group out with CommanderJJones heading the second group. I took the first group down the connector trail in up T22. Everyone did a great job. We completed 22 then traveled over to T26. We went down the hill on 26 and took a right onto T41. From there we headed towards T19 but decided to bypass because we had to meet the group at the Windmill gate for a great tour provided by Rooster and have lunch. Meeting Rooster at T4 and G39 entrance I noticed he had a passenger. The Boss (my wife) had arrived and she was carrying pies, cake, and brownies Oh Yeah

After lunch, we broke back out into groups. I took my group down T4 hitting T19 up to T20 down P1 to T24 overlook. We then backtracked to P1 and back to the camp. We got in ~38 miles.

Day 2 we stayed in one group with Bigg G taking the lead with me as tail gunner. What a great ride. We hit T1, T2, T16, T18a, T18, T28 and took a break for lunch. We hit T30 and we had a Rhino that was overheating for the third time so Ranger Tim and I split from the group with a Rhino sandwich and brought them back to camp for some radiator cleansing. ~40 miles or so on this day.

Day 3 the group was gearing up for a 70 mile north side ride but I was asked to take out a camera crew from a magazine so I did nt get to take this ride. I rode them up to the gravel entrance of T16 and Bigg G kindly brought the group up for a quick photo shoot. I took the camera crew from there over to the rock crawling area for more shots but there were no crawlers to be found. I headed up T21a and I rode some of the trail for their photos. I took them back to camp and broke camp and headed home.

It was a great time. I was glad to see to see old friends and make new ones. Everyone is welcome back in East TN any time.

Thanks again to Coal Creek for putting us up and supplying the dogs and burgers as well as Rooster for the windmill tour. Thanks to Bigg G as well for the great rides.

Nope it was a guy from GA that had just arrived. Got to his cabin, unloaded and went for a ride. Didn't even unlock the cabin.
