Lorreta Lynns
The final race of the GNCC 13 race series i was ready just having came in 8th overall in a loccal against some fast sport quads .
I did what comes to all racers sooner or later - the dreaded front endo - going over the front bars with bike coming after you ...

I was only a half mile on the track hit a down hill jump and jumped onto the face of another down hill jump .
Very bad - i went off the bike and landed on my back the bike came down with all 800 pound directly onto my chest - i had a chest protector on .
This did not feel good -

I immediatly moved to the side to avoid being ran over and get a grip - noticed i had a few cracked ribs but not to bad so i got on my bike and tried to ride - made it 100 yards and pulled off the pain was pretty intense .
Anyhow , loaded up and drove home 4 hours and went to ER - they quickly sliced two holes in my rib cage telling me that both of my lungs were 40 % collapsed . Its not good when both of your lungs lose 40 %.

Im fine now still in hospital - it hurts .

I only know one other guy who took the bar in the rib with full weight of a 800 pound quad - and he died .
Feeling like God was watching over me and it was not my time .
Will be rehabing quickly and hope to run a better season next year , if the cards fall right and im still motivated This was my first go at a full season of National GNCC Racing . It was hard .
Figured id let yall know....

Sorry to hear this Jerry.

Get better soon.

Had 850 lbs of my 650 land on me once, but nothing as high speed as you have.

Well the tubes are out - they went inside my chest for over a foot - such a relief to get them out - they sure did hurt if i pulled on them as they were sutured into the skin - Ohhhweee
Got myself 5 broken ribs - they dont hurt to bad at all so i doubt they are bad breaks - ive had a few worse , more painful ones .
I could actually go ride real slow like .
For sure No racing which sux - was supposed to start OMA winter series saterday .
Ill give the ribs a few weeks befor i try any racing .
I knew that eventually i would take a hard hit , everybody does .So im glad this one is almost over with and im glad i took the big one , Odds are in a mans favor not to take that hit very often .

I got 5th place in U2 class of the GNCC 2012 with 9 races ,not bad for a old rookie rabbit

They made me stay at the hospital - im about to runnoft
Supposedly i got a tiny bit of air in my plural - the sac which your lungs sit in .
No chit - when they yanked the tubes out those holes where the tubes went in were sucking wind. Because they didnt have anything over them .
Thats the wrong way to pull them out .
I held my nose and pushed most of the air out , sounded like a fart .Doc nearly crap .
Now they have been sealed up for a good while,24 hours , and theres no sound in there .
So hopefully the x ray they took at 5 am shows nothing .

Nah, going to Stoney lonesome tomorrow. Gotsome steep hills there and mud and everything. Like windrock only a tad bit smaller.
