PostSubject: Place to ride near McMinnville TN   Sun Dec 23, 2012 10:34 am

Im new to this forum, my name is Jeff. Nice meeting you all!
I just moved to McMinnville TN from Washington State.

Im looking for atv trails near Mcminnville and Manchester. I have an UTV similar to Yamaha Rhino.

I checked out Mayhem, was informed their closed. The owner said the business was really slow.

Golden Mountain in Sparta closed? I called and emailed them, have not heard anything back.

I heard something about Rock Crusher trails that's supposely a few miles from the town of McMinnville off Viola RD. Cant seem to find it.

Any inputs would be greatly appericated.

Thanks.

Welcome to CATVR.

We have many members in your area. Most of them ride what is referred to as the cove. There is also Prentice Cooper. A little further east you will find many riding areas. Windrock, Royal Blue, Brimstone, Harlan, and many more.

We will be riding Windrock this coming weekend and you are more than welcome to join us.

Fracture 7: I sent Wyld a message that you were looking to ride around Viola. Scott rides Viola a lot. So perhaps he will come on and leave some info for you. I rode there several times but cant remember exactly where it is located. We parked at a nearby farm for $5. and once at a church lot. It has some rocky trails but we had lots of fun in some gravel pits.
Have fun riding

bubbanewf: Awesome thanks. Sounds like Mayhem offroad park you're referring to. There's a church lot right across the road where you turn to go to the ORV park. Hope fully scott chimes in. Again, thanks.

Bigcat: Thanks. That's an impressive park. I now want to check it out. lol
Back in Washington state, we dont have something like this. Most ATV parks are small back there. Mostly are to tend the offroad vechiles.

Again, Thanks ya'll!

okay other than parking at marvins aka mayhem offroad there is no OHV area up there offiicially, there are several trails all over those mountains "ben lomand" take u to highway 8 out through thru fultz's cove and over to monteagle if u know the way, to breesha springs yup i spelled that wrong. Most land belongs to a paper company, people have rode there for years, use to be able to park at church but trash and other crap people do ended that. Its a ride at your own risk, not saying I ever been asked to leave but note its private property.

brimestone near Huntsville, TN, riding permit required

Windrock, near oliver springs, tn,permit required

Ride royal blue near Pioneer, TN, WMA property so some TN or non resident licenses are required

Near woodbury, TN another private chuck of land for riding is on short mountain

there's Iron gap road, outside winchester, TN, free no charge

Bryant's cove, free no charge

use to be some places over near pelham, Tn course those got shutdown due to trash and people disrespecting other peoples land

northeast of those you got several area in eastern Ky, some in western Ky, and then of course in west virgina you got hatfield mccoy

Ok, sorry so late to the party.

Viola is kinda hard to get to unless you know a better place to park. The last time i was up there( summer 2012) we parked at a local church but were told not to park there anymore. Some other people have been tearing up church property and they blame all riders.

So i would'nt ride viola for at least a while( least till we can find a safe place to park).

Been riding Bryants cove( up near Tracy City). lot of placesto ride in Middle TN, ernie made mention of most of them.

Get at me sometime after the first of the new year, Going to have another ride planned for Bryants cove. ( space will be limited though).

Dug up this discussion. What is the current situation at Ben Lomond? Can you ride it? Where to park? Thanks in advance.
