Next time you have the splines out get some of Permatex Anti-seize. Its silver colored and it lubes and prevents corrosion. The stuff will not even wash off with soap and water. Have to use orange hand cleaner or something like Wd-40 or PB Blaster to get it off my hands. I use it on all of our splines.

Maybe he can but it would probably be for a spare.

If he's got the right setup, it's fixable. Cool

Jody be careful with the welding of cast aluminum...if he gets his heat just a bit too high it will induce micro stress cracks in the sides of the weld. The area has to be super clean as well prior to any work with TIG welding that crack shut.

Some short relief cuts (20-30% of material thickness in depth) made with a very thin grinding wheel would help with the stress cracking as well, I would stay away from pre-heating though as this area is pretty thin already.

One other thing I would look at is to roll a 8-10 guage patch, grind everything smooth and clean and just cover the entire broken area, it should be a round patch, not square...patches with rounded corners make for less stress fracturing in thinner aluminum.

Well the welding was a total bust...Literally. The wheel had multiple cracks that went out over 2" from the main hole. Rather than chance the wheel I decided to scrap that set of wheels. I had a spare set I got off of DoddS a little over a year ago...i mounted them up this morning. I think I like this style wheel better than the old ones

Those do look great. We saw 2 brand new ones like yours today at Windrock. Still had the plastic wrap on the windshields.

Went over to Windrock today to work at the Jam with the Windrock ATV Club...between jobs I ran down to Vendor row and picked up a 30" LED light bar from 330 Powersports...I believe you could get a Tan standing in front of this thing!

625 miles and the stock bushings were letting me know they were due to be changed...I put in a set of Super Daves bushings tonight...should be good to go for 2000+ miles now...ball joints and wheel bearings were in real good shape.

My bushings were showing wear at 1000 miles and 1 ball joint was bad. I tried a set of aftermarket bushings and put new ball joints in with the BA arms. I hope I'm good for a while......but I did break a him on a rear radius arm on Saturday. Embarassed
