Did you get yours in Alcoa, pwm? I noticed they are still showing some 2012s. They let you test drive before you bought?
Yep and if you have a motorcycle license you can test drive.

I've signed up for a motorcycle training course (3-days) and when I finish I go to DMV and give them my certificate.

Awesome, I would recommend the BRC to anyone that is starting to ride on the street.

Do you have to have a motorcycle to do the course? That may sound dumb but how can u have a bike if u can't test drive it ?
I sat on 4 different bikes this evening and realized my legs are rather short and some bikes are almost like straddling a horse they are so big.

Another question on your spyder, do you ride hunched over or sit up pretty straight?

Bamagirl, I cannot speak for other places, but in this area the Basic Rider Course is taught on their bikes....they have a variety of rode hard and put up wet 250s that have been donated from local motorcycle shops. That way if you drop one it's not a big deal.

Most will require you to have your own gear....long sleeves/pants/gloves and over the ankle boots. Some may even have helmets available but you should have your own.....right?

Search for a MSF certified Basic Rider Course......from someone like this: http://www.midtennmotorcycle.com/

You do not have to have a motorcycle to take the coarse Bama as they provide. Actually they will not let you ride your own until you are in the advanced coarse according to what they told me.

cool info guys, thank you!

It looks like things have quickly changed and I have had my atvs for sale a long time and not sold them and only talked about selling where I live and now someone wants to buy it and they want it as soon as I can move out. Talk about some pressure! Hopefully dear ole dad wont mind if we continue to stay with him for a little while longer and in the mean time I have to find a place to store our stuff.

Wow Bama, big changes on the horizon for you!

Well, since you still got your wheelers, y'all ought to come up to Windrock and ride with us Saturday... If you're not busy moving.

Anyone else riding WR Saturday?

Yeah I saw that, but Gary didn't seem to interested in it, so unless he changes his mind, I guess we'll just do our own thing.

I feel the same way Bigcat....its real tempting and it would be great to see yall, but I just dont care for riding in the summer and the dust. Not to mention I reallly dont think I know how to ride an atv anymore its been so long. I get on it at the farm from time to time but thats way different than WR trails.
Yep, we are packing up... started last night. Looks like I may be spending my long 4th of July holiday weekend packing and moving. Funny how things just lose importance when you start going through stuff and deciding to keep it or throw it away. Hopefully the clothes we have outgrown will help somebody in need.

PostSubject: Re: PWM's 2012 Can Am   Tue Jun 18, 2013 9:39 am

Today I did my first modification to the Spyder by adding a SpyderPops Bump Skid. Installation was very simple. First remove the factory skid plate.

After removing the skid plate, I simply followed the enclosed instructions removing the plastic 4 rivets on the wings.

Here is the difference between stock and SpyderPops skids.

I then added the clips to the 4 holes where the rivets were installed making sure that they were centered in the holes by testing each to make sure the bolts would thread properly.

I installed the bump stop using these 4 holes at the wings and snugged them up so I could use the bump stop as a jig for drilling the 8 - 1/4 inch holes in the front of the bump skid as well as the 2 in the rear.

I removed the bump skid and placed the clips over the holes again making sure that each was centered.

I then removed the clear plastic protection film and installed and tightened the bump skid going around in a pattern so that it would fit secure and evenly. (The crack is a reflection of my garage floor..oops)

The fit and finish is awesome. I am glad I chose SpyderPops.
