Note this riding area is along a county road. A real rocky in some points county road.

Directions from I-24. You can take the Pelham exit U.S. 64 west towards Winchester. Follow U.S. 64 west( i think it's the 3rd road to the left past the hwy 41-a Exit( should look for a MX track to your left). The road alongside it is rt 16. Follow this road south, up mountian. Should look for (IRON GAP ROAD/ROWE GAP ROAD) at the top of the mtn. (You'll see a firetower at top). Take the Iron Gap road to the right, follow for about 1/4-1/2 mile to community center( we park here). They have enacted something new to help generate $ for the community center, they are now charging $5 per vehicle to park here. Permits can be purchased at the store located 1-2 miles down the main RT 16. ( you'll notice 4-wheeler trails on the left side of the main road towards the store.

Once you park and have your permits, follow Iron gap road southwest to end of road, notice a dirt road to your right, take this road and this leads to the trails at Iron Gap.

I rode there this past saturday, place is still open, though i would try to stay clear during deer season.
Also note that the TWRA has taken over part of this area as a WMA, Bear Cove WMA. The county road you can still venture on with a ohvs but they don't want anyone off the main track to the state line. Bear cove is after the deep muddy holes as mentioned in this post.

Ride went ok.

We had a total of three quads on this ride. Mine, a 700 rhino( rick) and my friend on a 250 Quadrunner(mike).

Was cold once we started out around 11:45 a.m. cst. But it soon warmed up. Lots of mudholes and the creek was up( some deep water) but we didn't have a problem with the crossings. I didn't get any pics this time, due to the fact that i forgot both of my cameras.

I had left my parents house early this morning to get to my house to load up and be up there by noon, I forgot 'em.

But we had a fun time, only place we had problems was one trail where the 2wd Quad-runner got hung up on some rocks. And where we came off one of the side trails to the main trail, Rick nearly flipped his rhino on it's side. I think he was on one wheel at the time, Luckily he was able to save it.

Ran into a bunch of Toyota FJ cruisers on the trail. As well as a few lifted trucks.
