 | Subject: How to lower my Bike. Wed Jun 17, 2009 7:36 pm | |
| Yeah i know sounds strange .Anyhow i ride the two KQ's everyday and honestly i like the 450 better overall. I would not trade my 750 for a 450 so dont ask. The 450 is about 1.5 inches lower and it just makes a worls of difference. When im about to endo on the 750 the 450 feels tame and cornering off camber is so easy on the 450. So i heard if i buy some type of after market wheels i can squat the tires and thus lower the bike. Id like yalls suggetions , im not playing in the mud so much , im doing rocky hills and ruts. So i need a stable bike . I could go with spacers , i guess but i hate the idea of that. Im happy to go with some different shocks please reccomend ? But i hear ill get the best benifit out of wheels that make my tires squaty / What say yee? |

| They should be the same height unless the springs are weak... _________________ Kawasaki Brute Force 750iTeam Cumberland Mudders Barnett #10 Sponsored by: X Brand, MudTechInc., GearUpHelmets.com, Interco Tire, Mud-Throwers.comMudNutz.com |

| What Boot said! I have tried tw different sets of tire/wheel combos. Both increased the width of my king. _________________ 07 King 700 camo 26" Big Horns SS212's EPI yellow spring/ 20gm weights VDI + M109 inj. | Might want to check the stiffness of the shocks. If the 450 is set for a softer ride, it might set lower. Just a thought. _________________ 1999 YAMAHA BIG BEAR 350, 4X4

| Part of that should be the tire size. I would think the 450 has smaller tires on it than the 750 unless you are running aftermarket tires on it. _________________ 03 Foreman 450S 26" Vampire ASX's, Custom Front Bumper, Custom Bash Plate, 3000# Winch, Soft Ride Kit

| You don't want to lower it by changing tires or wheels, that will mess with ground clearance. If you're riding in rocky areas, you need that ground clearance to protect the frame from damage. _________________ 2009 YammerHammer Rhino 700 EFI (Camo) J-Strong top & windshield, 26" Grim Reapers. | The shocks would be the first thing I'd look at. If you change the spring rate on them, the bike will handle and feel different in those off camber areas. Just my 2 cents. _________________ 03 Foreman 450S 26" Vampire ASX's, Custom Front Bumper, Custom Bash Plate, 3000# Winch, Soft Ride Kit

| I was wrong....the 750 is 49 inches and the 450 is 48 going by Suzuki specs.....difference is the springs.....High Lifter springs will help the stability a whole lot. I put them on mine and it alot more stable. _________________ Kawasaki Brute Force 750iTeam Cumberland Mudders Barnett #10 Sponsored by: X Brand, MudTechInc., GearUpHelmets.com, Interco Tire, Mud-Throwers.comMudNutz.com |

| I want to loose about an inch guys . You would not believe the difference in the two bikes. while i was in pure terror coming up hill number 12 on the 750 i was freakin hiking it on the 450. (((((((((( Im serious though , i was told some aluminum wheels make the tires wider and that alot of people dont like that. ))))))))))) Ill add the highlifter springs, Boot but as the name implies would that not just lift it up even more. On the 09 KQ the back axels go down starting at the differentilal , at a sharper angle than the KQ 450 . Im even concidering spacers , NOT haha. I dunno i am fortunate to ride all the hard bits of any trail i find with both bikes , my wife walks the steep stuff . Ive learned alot about how incredibly different they handle. I just think id be happier riding the 750 at the same height as the 450 . We aint hittin that many rocks with either one . |

YThat is how old school lowriders were done before all the spring kits came out but I wouldn't do it to mine _________________ 09 Polaris 850 XP HMF Swamp Series Ricochet A-arm gaurds Skid Plate Hilifter Springs Tamarack Rear Box Piaa Lights Front /Rear Brush Gaurds Audio Pipe SS212 26" Big Hornies Otter Box and Ram Mount More To Come Windrock Atv CLUB MEMBER MOUNTIAN HIGH CLUB PRESIDENT CUMBERLAND ATV RIDERS JUG HEAD'S PICSLIFE IS TO SHORT GET OUT AND RIDE IT IS BETTER TO HAVE THAN TO WANT |
