| Might just be a blown head gasket, may not be the fix you want in the end, but shouldn't be all that bad to just replace the top end gaskets. (Head, intake, & exhaust) Just as long as the piston and cylinder wall isn't in bad shape, I'd just put gaskets on it till your financially ready to do the built motor. _________________ 1999 YAMAHA BIG BEAR 350, 4X4

| Don't think you should have to pull the motor to get to the heads, but everything on top of it plastics, tank, etc, will most likely have to be removed. But once you get the heads off, be sure to check the pistons and cylinder walls to make sure a total rebuild is not needed. The hardest thing at that point would be turning the motor over manually. I don't think you'll have too much trouble, just take it one step at a time. _________________ 1999 YAMAHA BIG BEAR 350, 4X4

be sure the cylinder walls are not scarred or scratched, little small lines are ok as long as you cant hang your fingernail in them...turning the engine over will not be hard all you have to do is take the recoil rope off and turn it with a ratchet _________________ 2009 Can-Am 800R XT Ricochet Skids HMF 26" BH on ss312's stealth snorked PC III whelen D4 and 2 tir3 strobes Gade Pegs Kimpex rear box

| shall do drew ill have to hit you up when im getting ready to tear it apart honestly whats your opinion would you go ahead and put some goodies in it since you have to pull the cyclinder anyway??? i have a set of cyclinders here i could send off and get the 840's for probably around 400.00 which isnt bad then all i would need is a good set of cams to go with them... i heard messing with cam's is not alot of fun though... _________________ JUSTIN SIMPSON AMR "750ish" brute force (work in progress as we speak)

| umm just to check the head gasket you will not have to pull the jug off...web cams are a + i agree with boot on that one there are alot of people who run webs......that only hard part about taking the head off is keepin the motor in time, just installin cams is no biggie what so ever, i had mine in abour 3 hours, just have to make sure your at top dead center and all your timing marks are lined up, but if you drop your timing chain and it comes off the timing gear you will have to dig deep into the motor and would be a major PITA!!!!!! but more than likely if your head gasket was blowed or goin bad you will have coolant in your oil..as for as the 840 HECK YEA that would be BA...but if you havent messed with engines that much i would take it to somebody who has just to insure the timing is right bc if its out + or - one tooth it will run like crap or will burn really lean and burn it up, but if its out real bad you will bend valves knock holes in your piston or bend your connectin rods..... _________________ 2009 Can-Am 800R XT Ricochet Skids HMF 26" BH on ss312's stealth snorked PC III whelen D4 and 2 tir3 strobes Gade Pegs Kimpex rear box
